Professional Consultation

Online or in-person, consultation sessions are designed for professionals in the helping fields. Consultation is provided around the following issues/areas of growth:

• Integration of a Liberation praxis into therapeutic work.

• Working with Systems/Multiplicity/Dissociation and Dissociative Identities

• Use of Internal Family Systems (note: these hours do not currently count towards IFS certification! For a list of certified consultants, please visit the IFS Institute Directory)

Please consider: Race is a social construct which includes your physical features. Race is an identity that folks do not get choice in, as we often cannot choose how we are seen and coded. Ethnicity is a cultural experience: where you come from, your lineage, your cultural/familial practices and heritage. Both are marginalizing experiences, and are not mutually exclusive. 

Example: Caleb has a white father and a Black mother. Caleb has never directly experienced racism, due to her white racial identity (her skin and features are all white-coded, and she has never had to worry about passing in any space she enters). Caleb has a mixed ethnicity, and often has had to witness racism happening to her mother and family members. She has felt scared. isolated and confused in spaces dominated by whiteness due to these experiences. She has struggled with belonging in spaces with her Black community members, unsure of where she can take up space in her experience. Caleb's experiences are valid and important, AND Caleb would not be eligible for the Repair tier.
